The Salem Witchcraft & Folklore Festival believes in highlighting diverse voices and creating an event which welcomes all who seek to come together in community to celebrate and to share the rich history, and contemporary practices, which commonly fall within the realms of witchcraft, folk magic, and occultism. Our 2027 event will take place fom August 17th-22nd.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE IS MIDNIGHT Thursday, December 31st, 2026
It is our mission to attract teachers, authors, folklorists, speakers, performers, ritualists, business-owners, and activists from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives to contribute to this event. Salem Witch Fest stands against racism, misogyny, transphobia, homophobia, and all forms of bigotry and seeks to create a community which shares these values. In short, if you operate from a place of bigotry and prejudice towards others, you are unwelcome here.
Submission Considerations
Salem Witchcraft & Folklore Festival caters to an intermediary to advanced audience so we tend to avoid most introductory/beginner level programming unless it is introducing topics not commonly found represented at magical conferences. On average our presenters have 10+ years of experience in the magical arts and many have an academic background or are priests, teachers, authors, and spiritual workers living with magic as a primary vocation. None of this is a requirement to be a presenter, however we do ask those looking to submit please consider the general nature and caliber of programming we are looking for when preparing your submissions. If you have never attended our event and are curious about what types of classes we have chosen in the past you can see our archive of classes here.
The theme for the 2027 Festival is From the Roots: Magical and Spiritual Tradition Fundamentals, Herb-Craft & Dirt Sorceries., which will focus upon a wide range of magical and spiritual traditions, as well as accompanying herb-craft, dirt sorceries, and working with the dead.. While our goal is to have roughly 50% of our classes reflect these themes so will give special consideration to classes which reflect it, we will also be accepting presentations that are not connected to this theme. What's most important is that your submissions be something that you are knowledgeable and passionate about sharing.
Our festival is a hybrid in-person/online festival. All in-person classes will also be livestreamed and recorded for online attendees.
For those presenters who are unable to travel to Salem, we will have two days of Online Only classes (Tuesday August 17th & Wednesday August 18th). This means that on these days both the presenter and attendees will be attending online. Please note that we will be giving first preference to presenters living outside of the U.S. for these class slots.
We are incredibly excited about our 2027 event and hope you are, too! If you have any questions not answered here, please feel free to contact us info@salemwitchfest.com
